Eagle Nebula Pillars

Hubble's view of the "Pillars of Creation" in the Eagle Nebula displays three giant columns of cold gas giving birth to new stars. The pillars are bathed in the scorching ultraviolet light from a cluster of young, massive stars beyond the top of the image.

The Hubble Space Telescope captured an image of the "Pillars of Creation" in the Eagle Nebula, three giant columns of cold gas that are creating new stars.
The pillars are bathed in scorching ultraviolet light from a cluster of massive young stars behind the top of the image.
